Twhirl
April 4th, 2008 | by hantu |I have been using Twitterlex as my twitter client on the MacBook. Twitterlex is a Mac OS X dashboard widget.
I always wanted to try out something that is based on the Adobe AIR platform, and I found Twhirl.
The Adobe® AIR™ runtime enables you to have your favorite web applications with you all the time. Since applications built for Adobe AIR run on your desktop computer without a web browser, they provide all the convenience of a desktop application [1].
Twhirl is a desktop twitter client, that runs on Windows and Mac OS X. It comes with quite a few interesting features [2].
Installing Adobe AIR for Mac OS X
Go to Adobe AIR Download Center and download the Mac OS X installer for it.
Installing Twhirl
Download the latest version from Twhirl’s homepage. It comes in .air format, all you have to do is double click on it, and it will be installed into (in my case) Applications directory.
Setting up Twhirl
Setting up Twhirl took me 2 seconds, enter screen name and press connect, done!
So far, I am loving it.
